Hugging Ourselves



Hugging is a connection that is nurturing and supportive. In that regard we can learn to hug ourselves when we want.... perhaps when we're feeling sad or lonely and there's no one else around to get a hug from.


What are some ways you can nurture yourself? 


For me, one of my favorite "hugs" is a nice hot soothing cup of tea. :) Other self-hugs include...


  • journaling
  • taking a nap
  • reading a juicy book
  • meditating
  • sending yourself a text message!
  • exercising
  • soaking in a warm bath
  • snuggling with a pet
  • taking a deep cleansing breath
  • anything else you can think of that makes you smile!

So next time you need a little nurturing and you happen to be alone, ask yourself...
